Donor Support

While ReSupply is able to coordinate the pickup of all the items that you may have, the partnered charity is only able to accept items which they are able to use or sell in support of their mission. If item(s) can't be accepted by your assigned charity, your assigned driver will charge a recycling fee. This recycling fee is only intended to cover the costs that the driver would otherwise incur for the disposal of the item(s) in your area. We ensure that all of our partnered drivers adhere to local recycling and disposal policies and regulations.

How are Recycling Fees charged?

Recycling fees are not charged per item. This is the only incremental charge on our pricing structure so that we may account for varying disposal costs in our serviceable markets. Recycling fees are charged in increments of 10 dollars to reflect the costs for disposal of that item in your area.

Why would I be charged for recycling fees?

While not a comprehensive list, some reasons that recycling fees may be applied are listed below:

  • Damaged Items: rips, tears, stains, covered in pet hair, broken wood, etc.
  • Unaccepted Items: Items that the charity cannot utilize or sell to support their mission. Examples below are not inclusive of all of our partnered locations.
    • Habitat for Humanity locations typically cannot accept mattresses but can accept large appliances.

    • Furniture Banks usually cannot accept clothing but can accept mattresses.

    • Saint Vincent de Paul locations typically cannot accept large appliances but can accept clothing

For more accurate information regarding the donation guidelines in your area, it is recommended that you search your assigned charity's "Donation Guidelines page". You can do this by searching the web for the name of your assigned regional center followed by the phrase "donation guidelines page". For example, "Goodwill of Greater Washington donation guidelines page". This page is developed and maintained by the charity directly and will provide specific guidance related to the criteria for acceptance at that specific location.
