For purposes of pricing, what counts as a “staircase”?

If no elevator can be used.

If your donations must be moved up or down stairs and no elevator is available, please select the number of staircases. Please note that this charge is not per item that is moved up or down the stairs and should only be indicative of the number of stairways needed to be traversed. 

 

For purposes of pricing, what counts as “disassembly”?

Requiring tooling/upcharge items.

Please add this for each item that requires tool(s) for disassembly in order to remove. 

 

For purposes of pricing, how is the fuel fee calculated?

Fuel fees are a fixed percentage.

Fuel fees were introduced to the program shortly following the COVID pandemic as a means of combating the rising costs of fuel. We have retained this charge as we recognize that fuel fees have remained at high levels in various markets. These percentages have been determined using the AAA gas price tracker for the United States. 

 

For purposes of pricing, how are recycling fees calculated?

Recycling fees are charged in increments of 10 dollars and should reflect local disposal costs. 

Items that have a higher probability of being declined by the charity should have recycling fees added to reflect the charges that the driver would otherwise incur at the disposal or recycling center. Since these costs vary per item and per market that we service, we have made this charge to be incremental rather than charged per item. Any recycling fees for items which the driver believes to be declined but is instead accepted by the charity, are refunded to donors after the pickup has been complete.
